Insect Counting

Encourage your child to thread beads into the legs of the spider—they can sort, count, make patterns or simply fill the legs with fun beads. Suggest one bead per leg, but have fun with it and see what they come up with!

Materials

  • Cardboard Box
  • Ten Pipe Cleaners
  • Paint
  • Beads
  • Paint Markers
  • Hot Glue Gun

How To

  • Draw a large oval and small circle on the cardboard box to make the body of the spider.
  • Paint in the spider.
  • Using paint markers, add the eyes
  • Cut the pipe cleaners in half and glue them to the body of the spider
