Carrot Fronds Cutting

Set this activity out with safety scissors and/or spring-back scissors. Encourage your little one to trim the fronds. This is a playful way to strengthen the whole hand muscles needed for pre-writing skills. This project pairs great with our DIY Carrot Counting project.

Materials

  • Toilet paper roll (or paper towel cut in half)
  • Orange paint
  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes or marker for facial features
  • Glue

How To

  • Paint the toilet paper roll orange.
  • Cut a piece of green construction paper in half and make slits like grass.
  • When the orange paint is fully dried, glue the cut paper around the top of the toilet paper roll to resemble fronds.
  • Add fun facial features, and encourage your child to trim the fronds!
