Throughout the years, “homeschool-friendly” has been used rather loosely by many companies or service providers wanting to catch the attention of millions of homeschoolers around the world. We always considered “homeschool-friendly” products and services to be those represented at various homeschool fairs and conferences around the country. You meet, knowledgeable experienced homeschooling individuals who understand the needs of today’s homeschooling families.
In 1999, Homeschooling Parent Magazine coined the phrase “homeschool-friendly™”. We made it our mission to present “homeschool-friendly” products & services to hundreds of new homeschool families each year. Today many things have changed. Companies sell products that say they’re homeschooling-friendly with little to no knowledge about homeschooling. Reading a review from another parent or magazine isn’t always a reliable source of information.
Homeschooling Parent (HSP) offers product and service providers an opportunity to become certified to provide a measure of legitimacy to parents seeking homeschool-friendly products and services. As homeschooling continues to evolve in growth, standards, and resources, product and service providers should never stop learning about the wonderful world of homeschooling.
