How Online Preschool Makes Early Learning Work!

As the world transitioned from complete remote learning to hybrid learning and back to in-person learning, educators were able to understand and master a lot about the online preschool platform! This, coupled with the fact that we are living in a world where everything, from work to socialization, is becoming increasingly digitized, brings up a lot of questions about online learning for parents trying to choose a method of preschool that works for their little ones. So, we’re here to discuss the newest version of early education, and some of its benefits: online homeschool preschool!

For those who might be new to the preschool search in general, let’s clarify: What actually is pre-k? What about preschool? How do we define these terms? Are they different? Well, both preschool and pre-k refer to education programs for children anywhere from two-and-a-half to five years old. “Pre-k” is short for pre-kindergarten, and is a version of classroom learning that’s generally meant for little ones who are closer to ages four or five, and preschool often refers to programs for younger kids — but these definitions can vary depending on where you’re located. Both preschool and pre-k have been proven to play a big role in early development and socialization, and they help little ones build up important physical, mental, social, and emotional skills before they enter kindergarten.

Now that we’ve got an idea of what preschool should be helping your little one do, let’s take a look at how an online preschool can help them to be ready for kindergarten! To begin with, online homeschool can be a super useful way to encourage independent learning in little ones! If a child is staying at home and not a part of a learning program, it’s common that they receive a lot of attention from either a caregiver or a parent. By enrolling them in an online preschool or virtual preschool, they are able to work on developing a sense of self-motivation and independent learning. Teachers can’t be everywhere all at once, so it places responsibility on your little one to complete their tasks by themselves. This is a crucial skill for young students to learn early on, and online homeschool helps ensure that your little one is still being presented with the opportunity to learn this important skill.

A huge part of preschool, online or otherwise, is to help your little one feel excited about learning! The world is amazing, and your little one gets to discover it all. A lot of parents worry that online preschool will not be as conducive to encouraging that love of learning as in-person programs, but that just isn’t the case! Online preschool programs offer your little one plenty of opportunities to play games, explore their learning environment, and even to see the world outside of their home base! Science projects that require exploring your backyard or a local green space, field trips, and more are just as much a part of online homeschool learning as they are in-person education. You may even find that you are able to be more personally involved, since you will be the one to take your little one on these expeditions.

When it comes to the nitty-gritty of learning, online preschool does not disappoint! Lots of folks tend to get concerned about whether or not their little one will be learning the basic academics that are taught during  in-person preschool programs; but never fear — online homeschool preschools have focused curricula as well. Online preschool programs use similar educational programs for skills like literacy, reading, and math that will make sure your little one is not missing out on any critical learning.

Finally, being a part of any preschool program, online, homeschool, or in-person, is incredibly important in making sure that your little one will be working on the social and emotional development that they need alongside their educational development. Being a part of an online preschool will allow your little one to interact with other children, which can help them learn the importance of respect, sharing, and empathy! They will learn how to engage with authority figures, as well as the importance and helpfulness of routine. The sky’s the limit!

With such a large amount of choices, there’s no doubt that it can be overwhelming to try and pick the perfect form of early education for your little one. However, with these tips at hand, we hope you have a bit more insight now into how online preschool is absolutely a viable choice.
